This is a design of a living room that will be primarily used for entertaining guests.

The concept is to create a living room for entertaining guests that has a neutral base with pops of color for accent. The fireplace is the focal point of the space and everything else revolves around it. She prefers to use a sectional and ottomans to create spaces for conversation and she wants every furnishing and accessory in the space to have a purpose. Abstract art and modern, sleek accessories will be used to decorate the space.

  • Hanover Residence
This is a home renovation project for a couple planning to retire in the next few years. The house was previously occupied by the client's father and the client wanted to make some renovations to transform the house to create a space suitable for entertaining guests. The kitchen was a major focus of the renovation project.

The concept was to open up the kitchen and living room to accommodate guests for entertaining. It was important that there be a connection between the two spaces so that everyone feels a part of the same party regardless of which space they are in. The guest bedroom walls and one of the kitchen walls were removed to open up the space. The design of the kitchen island and bar were major factors in the effort to connect the kitchen and living room activities.

  • Journeys Wellness Center
The goal of the project was to design a wellness center for women of all ages, from early womanhood through menopausal transition and into their elderly years, focusing on the integration of aesthetic and functional concepts while also incorporating healing design philosophies and providing a sensory experience for the patients.

Journeys Wellness Center will be a comprehensive health facility that guides women on a journey through the gradual healing process in an environment that fosters renewal, growth, education, and strength. By way of a path that takes women through a circle of events, coupled with "places of escape" built into the design, women can remove themselves from the reality of their physical condition into a place that encourages the celebration of life and embraces women in a supportive environment.

  • The Rhythm & Soul Cafe @ Paradise Valley
Through the early 1920s to the late 1950s, Paradise Valley was an area of Detroit that embodied an era of economic growth, first-class entertainment, and new opportunities for Detroit's black community. Neighborhoods were prospering, people were close-knit, the economy was good, and there were over 300 black-owned businesses. The arts, live entertainment, music and dancing, theaters, hotels, and restaurants made the area the social and cultural center for Detroit's black community.

The major goal of this study was to look into the possibility that design can be used to revive what has been lost in African American culture today in Detroit by rediscovering the cultural history of Paradise Valley. I wanted to prove how design can be used to reference and restore history. It is about bringing back history, understanding where we have come from, and what people were capable of in times when they had fewer resources, but still using that as inspiration for shaping the future for our next generations.

This research was meant to help designers use the idea of Paradise Valley and recreate something similar for the city of Detroit through design. The study examined previous efforts to transform Harmonie Park into the Paradise Valley Entertainment & Cultural District. I used this critical examination as a major stepping stone in my efforts to discover future opportunities in creating a socially and historically significant place that residents can appreciate and visitors will want to visit.

Rhythm & Soul Café @ Paradise Valley is a cultural and historical attraction in Detroit. Housing a cafe, poetry & music corner, and art gallery, it is a gathering place for residents and visitors meant to contribute to the rebuilding of Detroit. It can be used as a catalyst for change and one small effort in bringing people back into the city, encouraging people not to give up on a city that once had a lively community spirit. People can come here to reflect upon the good times of the city, but also be inspired to move forward and create changes. It is intended to educate people through design and restoration about the history and cultural and social significance of Paradise Valley and its role in shaping and growing Detroit and Paradise Valley.

  • ImagiPlay Children's Museum
The goal of the project was to create a corporate identity for ImagiPlay, a children's museum, with a demographic base of foreign, non-English speaking tourists in New York. Identity will be used on all print material including letterhead, business cards, marketing brochure, website, uniforms, badges, and exterior and interior signage, including exhibit descriptions.

The marketing direction was to create an educational exhibit space for children of all ages that is fun, memorable and encourages children to explore the wonders of science. Branding identity through the use of a distinctive logo was most important because it needed to be recognized by the majority of tourists. For that reason, "Children's Museum" is translated in three different languages: Spanish, Chinese, and German. The symbols used under "ImagiPlay" can be recognized by all and give hints to the function of the business. The logo attracts the attention of the desired target market, it is easily identifiable and unique.
